Randy has been coaching gymnastics since 1985 and bought his first gymnastics studio in 1989. Some of his accomplishments are:

• Studied Exercise Science at Andrews University in Berrien Springs Michigan then, when went back and got a degree in Physical Education from Atlantic Union College in South Lancaster, Massachusetts.
• Coached directly under two Olympic coaches
• Has held coaching and/or officiating certification from 4 national/international gymnastics organizations in the areas of men's gymnastics, women's gymnastics, sports acrobatics, power tumbling, trampoline, and cheer.
• Started ATC Gymnastics and partnered with Rayna Hale to form Stormy's ATC Gymnastics.
• Founded Cortez Area Youth Activity Center
